Translator

UPDATED 02/07/2005
This update addresses an issue caused by Systran changing their website. This also introduces a few more language options not available in the previous version.

This is a text translator. When you desire to talk to someone that doesn't understand English, just start this program. First click the set handle button and set the window handle as explained below. Then click the set language button and select the flag representing the language of the person you desire to communicate with. Then type the message you want to send in the text box. Click the TRANSLATE button and it will fetch the translation from the Systran database and send it to the room. Since this uses an online database to handle the translating, it will need internet access through your firewall in order to work.

Setting the Window Handle

This is done by placing the OK button over the area where you type into WinMX, Ares, or other chat program. The position of your mouse when you click the OK button tells the program exactly where to enter the text. Do not place this over the body of the chatroom or it will not work. It must be placed over the text input area at the bottom of the chatroom screen.

**NOTE**

This is only one way translating. It will not translate room text. If you are a programmer that would like to complete this program and make it do 2 way translating, the C source code is available.
